- KHPC Minimus & Tetrathlon Training Day 22 April 2018

Note - as well as the usual Minimus and Tetrathlon competitions, there is a Minimus Fledgling competition with a smaller XC course in an enclosed arena and a new competition called Minimus Open for children OVER 12. (Same as Minimus, but no upper age limit).

- Hunter Trial Championships 7 April 2018
All those who are interested in competing at the IPC Hunter Trial Championships in New Ross on 7th April 2018, please get in touch with Tanya Doyle or Grainne O'Neill. If you haven't got a partner, don't worry, we can match you up with one. Try to take part in some of the upcoming Hunter Trials (see our Facebook page for the list). You must have your C Test to compete at the IPC HT Championships. IPC Hunter Trials are 90cm upwards. Entries are open from 12 March and close 30 March Online. There is a WhatsApp group for this. Dont forget the Kildare Hunt Hunter Trials are scheduled for 18th March in Punchestown. This would be a good opportunity to practice with your partner. There is also a XC Rally on 29 March (book in Online) specifically for those competing at the IPC HT Championships.

All riders must be able to ride independently in an open space at Walk, trot and canter as part of a ride and be over 6 yrs old as of Jan. There is no upper age limit, but you must be a member.
If you are interested and willing to commit to plenty of training get in touch.

- New BACK PROTECTOR STANDARDS 2018
The BETA 2000 BODY PROTECTOR STANDARD WILL NOT BE PERMITTED FOR USE AT 2018 IPC COMPETITIONS. A Body Protector which is EN13158:2009 Level 3 or BETA Level 3 (Purple Label) manufactured in the YEAR 2009 OR AFTER is mandatory for Cross Country and whenever else a body protector is worn. Athletes are strongly recommended to check their body protectors on a regular basis and to replace them if damaged. A body protector should not impede flexibility or balance. Random checks will be made to ensure that the correct body protector is being worn, but it is the athletes responsibility to ensure they are wearing the correct dress (protective headgear, back protectors etc) during comeptitition, in line with the IPC Rules
- Important Information 2018 Riding Hat Standards
There were new riding hat standards introduced in 2016 and they are available on the download link or click here. It is crucial that all parents check that your childs hat meets these standards as all hats will be checked throughout 2018 to ensure compliance. These standards are to keep your child safe.
- REMINDER RE VACCINATIONS
Now is the time to get your vaccinations in order for 2018 especially if you intend to stable your pony at Punchestown for Minimus and you will need to have the correct vaccinations for Camp. The following Influenza and Tetanus protocol applies. (1). A Primary Course of TWO injections not less than 21 days or more than 92 days apart. (2). A First Booster must be given 5 - 7 months (not less than 150 days and not more than 215 days) after the second injection of the Primary Course. Thereafter, Annual Boosters are to be given not more than 12 months apart. If at any time an injection is given later than is required under these rules, the whole sequence must be started from the beginning, including the 5 - 7 month booster. Vaccination within 7 days prior to entering the Racecourse Stables is NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR ANY vaccination. If you are unsure, please ask your vet to check your vaccinations NOW. - Tetrathlon and Minimus Swimming Club Entries Open
Tetrathlon Training is offered on Mondays and Wednesdays mornings 6.45 - 7.45am and Friday evenings 8-9pm. Minimus Swimming Training is Friday evenings 6pm and 7pm. The next batch of lessons for both Tetrathlon and Minimus are bookable online now and both finish on Friday 23 March. The following Swimming Training Sessions will commence on 7th April 2018 and will be bookable online also.
